![]() ![]() In order to view the records for his transactions with Starcourt, Hopper, Joyce, and Larry traveled to the Kline residence. After Hopper broke his nose and threatened to crush his finger, Larry confessed that the person who had attacked him worked for Starcourt, and that the company wished to expand to East Hawkins. Larry initially tried to feign ignorance, stating that the man was simply there for maintenance. Hoping to find out more about his assailant from the lab, Hopper and Joyce on July 2 again visited Kline at his office in Town Hall. While Hopper tried to decline his request, Larry was able to win the argument. On Sunday, June 30, when a crowd of people was protesting outside of Town Hall, Larry insisted that Hopper remove them from the premises. With the opening of the Starcourt Mall, many shops and businesses in the downtown area were forced to close, causing friction between the mayor and the citizens of Hawkins. This prompted the construction of a secret underground lab the Russians created in order to open a portal to another dimension, and by extension, the Starcourt Mall. During his term, he participated in several dubious activities on one occasion the Chief of Police Jim Hopper had caught him partaking in illegal substances, and on another, caught him cheating on his wife with Candice, his secretary.Īt some point in 1984, Kline began leasing land in Hawkins to Starcourt Industries. The woman was calling for hopper to stop, but Joyce spoke up to silence her.At an unknown time, Kline was elected the mayor of Hawkins. "Great," Hopper said continuing to walk as Tee and Joyce stopped in front of the woman. Hopper looked at the woman working the front desk, "is he here?" Hopper walked in first, Joyce behind him and Tee behind her. Tee was confused by them as she got out, but decided to ignore them as she followed Hopper and Joyce. The place they ended up was the town hall. She walked back out, ready to help Hopper and Joyce with whatever was happening. She smiled sadly at us as she took it off the mirror and put it in her back pocket. In her mirror was a Polaroid if her and mike. Tee went to her room, changing her top for a cooler one and putting on comfier shoes. But the two didn't really hear as they carried on the conversation. "His license plate," Joyce said as Hopper took the paper. "What is that?" Hopper asked as Tee stole his drink to have a sip herself. She had two letters from his number plate on them. ![]() "Let's ask him." Joyce said, holding up a piece of paper. Hopper sighed in response, "yeah, but if he's government, what's he doing slinking around? Why is he running? You know, why didn't we find anything down there?" "He's gotta be government, right?" Joyce asked the two. ![]() "Sorry, I'm sorry," he said to tee, "I've got a headache, okay? I don't mean it." "Hop!" Joyce raises her voice, "don't say that!" "Yeah no shit," Hopper muttered as he grabbed a drink from the fridge and walked away to get changed. "He was r-really tall," Tee says to the two, "and strong." ![]() "Did you get a good look at the thug?" Joyce asked him. Tee watched as Hopper walked over to the fridge.
